Back before the tunic revival had registered on even the most sensitive fashion meters, Claudine owner Kyung Lee had discovered eye-catching, updated versions and hung them in the window of her West Village shop (one of three; she also operates Albertine and the newest, Leontine, near the South Street Seaport). Lee has an eye for talent—she’s been carrying Kathy Kemp for four years, Gary Graham for two, and lately has gotten behind Rachel Comey’s hausfrau-gone-chic pinafores, Rodebjer’s sundresses in printed silks, and Geren Ford’s deconstructed shirtdresses.
