1. The Decemberists, "Valerie Plame"
On this catchy new single, the Decemberists tackle the Valerie Plame scandal before "Hey Jude"–ing their way into the sunset. It's supposed to be released on Election Day, but it might be a little too late to get Kerry elected. [Pop Tarts Suck Toasted]

2. Britney Spears, "Womanizer (Dominik von Werdt Remix)"
On Friday, we asked for a remix of Britney's new song that got rid of the Dr. Who theme song, and the magical Internet responded within 24 hours. Today, we'd like to ask the magical Internet for a Joanna Newsom cover of "Big Yellow Taxi" and two tickets to the World Series. Fingers crossed! [Panda Toes]

3. You Love Her Coz She's Dead, "Superheroes"
This crazy electro freak-out from England's YLHCSD is better than Tim Kring's TV show, even the first season. [Ohh! Crapp]

4. Ane Brun, "Big in Japan" (Alphaville cover)
Brun is presumably most well known in her native Sweden, but this quietly urgent cover of a synth-pop classic might make her a hit in Japan (and just about everywhere else). [Zeon's Music Blog]

5. Titus Andronicus, "Waking Up Drunk" (Spider Bags cover)
New Jersey's Titus Andronicus stagger and swoon through this cover of North Carolina's Spider Bags for Daytrotter, and it's clear there's no way they're going in to work today. [Daytrotter]
