Is Guido Castagnoli on commission from the Japanese tourism industry? His lucent photographs of small-town Japan have the distinct whiff of a quirky movie set about them, like maybe someone's hoping J.J. Abrams will come along and decide to set a Lost–meets–Northern Exposure combo here.
