Voula Duval wrangled Madonna and Prince to her “Life is Beautiful” night at the defunct club Life and at her first venture as a co-owner, she aims to bring a similar crowd: Indeed Prince rolled through during the club’s pre-opening. With its white pleather banquettes and with candles hanging from the ceiling, the single room is what would happen if you took an approximately 2,500-sq. foot version of the Corova Milk Bar from A Clockwork Orange and expertly eased in Victorian settees, antique gilded mirrors, pastoral paintings, and twinkling chandeliers. A D.J. spins house, dance, hip-hop and rock music from high above a Club Monaco-dressed crowd peppered with heirs and heiresses guzzling bottles that fetch up to $1,400. In lieu of a proper VIP room, the back parlor can be enclosed in velvet curtains should the spawn of Mick Jagger or Julian Schnabel show up and not wish to be seen. — Daniel Maurer
