If you've lived in Brooklyn all your life, worked the same job for forty years, and want a crowd to share your troubles who won't tell your secrets, you probably already know about it. This is no faux-dive; this is the real McCoy, a soporific last stop, where unless you're the life of the party at family reunions you're likely to feel uncomfortable if you're not already getting the senior discount on the MTA. With the "six nips for nine bucks" bucket (six bottles of beer served, literally, in a bucket), the bar may have the cheapest drinks in town. Plus, it has a history: Some claim the joint has been around for over 75 years, and that the "fifth amendment" refers to the joint's mob connections before Jackie took over.
