Profile

Origami birds and lush architectural detail transform this gawky duplex into a Japanese-fusion playpen. Starters—Spanish-mackerel tartare with wasabi tobiko, one night's luscious spicy tuna roll—show better than entrees. The toll mounts if you toss in a few sushi rolls, fruity fusion cocktails, and specialty sakes. But can you resist a tea of silvered young leaves scented with jasmine and wrapped around a rosebud?

Prix-Fixe Lunch

Three courses, $29

Recommended Dishes

Spanish mackerel tartare, $14; shrimp lollipops, $14; halibut, $29; rack of lamb, $33; spicy tuna roll, $12

Geisha is a Japanese influenced jewel box but it is not Japanese. The fusion cuisine has ties to classic Japanese cuisine, but the interpretation to western standards is almost always correct. A few missteps are over looked by the great service...Read More
