The beef, a short-rib-and-chuck blend from meat maven Pat La Frieda, may be the only thing at the new Black Iron Burger Shop that isn’t locally grown or made (for now). Everything else fits the theme, from the Orwasher’s buns and Long Island hand-cut potato fries to the New York State Cheddar on the patty melt. Even the employees live in the neighborhood, according to partner Jason Hennings, who also co-owns the nearby E.U. 540 E. 5th St., nr. Ave. B; 212-677-6067.
